| LOVE this State! |
Therefore I take every opportunity to head out west. It didn't hurt that I could visit one of my favorite people in the whole world, my grandmother. My grandma has lived in the same town in Colorado her whole life and the same house for about 50 years, I even lived there for a couple of those years. However, my grandma recently had to move into an assisted living facility because of old age, and all the complications that go along with getting older. Therefore, something had to be done with her house, so Dad and I traveled out there to sort through all of Grandma's treasures and to organize everything for the family moving in. This task had its ups and downs, it was hard to think about the house not being hers, but we also found some family history in old pictures, and spent some time reliving old memories. It was hard work, and by the end of the week I was emotionally spent; however, seeing Grandma made it all worth it. In some ways she's changed so much, not being able to hear much any more or get around very well, but in other ways she's barely changed at all. She still has a wonderful sense of humor, she told me I was getting old because I had grey hair (aka my highlights), she still loves to sing to all of her favorite people ("I love you a bushel and a peck..."), she is still a competitive game player (beat me at Tic-Tac-Toe twice...), and she still wants to get down on her hands and knees and pull out all of those stubborn weeds in the garden. I loved being able to spend some time with her, and I miss her terribly.

It was also wonderful to see my Uncle Mick because we never get to see him enough! We stayed at his house, ate wonderful food, and watched as much of the Rockies baseball games as possible, which was quite a treat in itself because I can't watch them out here... It was a blast, and if it were up to me he'd have to come out more often to visit!

Unfortunately our week in Colorado was over way too quickly, and Dad and I were headed back East. I met Timmy in Charlotte and we had planned an evening in Rock Hill with my brother and some of our favorite kiddos! However, Jonas ended up being sick, so Timmy and I took the kids to the park to play soccer and then to Cici's for all you can eat pizza (who wouldn't like that?)! It was such a blessing that everything worked out and that we were able to spend some time with this wonderful family.

God has placed some amazing examples of Godly marriages and families into our lives, from our parents, to our grandparents, to the families that we are surrounded by. I pray that Timmy and I will learn all that God has planned for us, so that we can grow into a family that will reflect his light to the world and in return we can be that same example for younger couples.
